Friday, February 25, 2005 (Headed to Cali)
Next Saturday, I’ll be moving to the Newport Beach area of California. I’ll be crashing with Redeye Randy until I find a place of my own. I’ll also be working with Randy, so we’ll be seeing way too much of each other.
I’ll be employed as a web guy by Sole Technology, as I mentioned recently – the skate company behind such dope ass sites as etnies.com, esfootwear.com, thirtytwo, emerica and a few others. The gig entails, as they say – front-end programming, and there main web guy knows his stuff. I look forward to learning quite a bit in the lovely world of xhtml/css.
I’ve been to California (Los Angeles) once, a few summers ago. While I had a good time, I pretty much hated the state. It’s a desert for christ sake, a desert with transplanted grass and round the clock irrigation systems. Why anyone would ever want to call it home is beyond me. Well, I guess the beaches can be nice.
But anyway, I figured I’d give it a shot, after all – I grew up skateboarding, have always loved it, and look forward to being around it again. Combine that with the webbernet, who could ask for anything more?

Never judge the state of Cali on LA… Cali is far from just a desert, I have never felt more alive then I did there.
