Josh Blue won Last Comic Standing simply because America is filled with a bunch of saps. People who feel so shitty about their inability to provide anything to society cast away their wrong doings by voting for someone with a handicap. You can’t solve your problems by voting for a mediocre comedian, get some balls people. I guess I was kind of expecting Josh Blue to win, this is typical television after all, completely predictable.
There was a sliver of hope that the clearly more talented Ty Barnett would garner more votes and that hope grew stronger when he completely killed it with previously unheard material in last nights finale. I cringed when Josh followed up Ty’s 10 minutes of polished stand up with absolutely nothing. Josh’s final appearance consisted of two jokes, one of which he used a couple of weeks ago. He then filled in the dead air with lots of ridiculous hooting & hollering, it was quite embarassing.
Unfortunately, the votes had already been cast and Josh Blue took it all with sympathy votes. I guess the real work for Josh will begin, he needs to craft his ideas into a real act, hopefully in time for his Bravo show. I will take some pleasure in knowing that Ty has received enough coverage to pack clubs across the US which should result in a long & fruitful career in the cutthroat comedy business. Now for some Project Runway!

I’m stoked that I’m not such a “comedy expert” as you are, and was able to watch the show at the level of the average American sap (or in my case: average Dutch sap).
Josh was funneh, he made me laff 10x more then Ty. Made me ROFL a couple of times! Even during his little interviews he was never serious and was pokin fun at everything. SHAKE IT UP JOSH!.
Also, out of all the past winners, I thought Bodden’s routine was the bestest.

Josh was not mediocre! Gee, why do you say that? Because he lacked the usage of the trash verbage, the nasty talk, the bleeps just wasn’t there for you? I found him refreshing! Finally a comic who knows the true meaning of the word! He beleives in himself, he’s not affraid to tell the world who he is and how he lives and he does it in a clean manner. No, America did not feel sorry for him, we reveled in his dream, we loved Josh for getting out there and living life, and being who he is! A wonderful Comic with zest and zeal!

^^ they said the same thing about Dat Phan… and he came out of obscurity just long enough last night to do a couple miniutes of the same material he used on the original Last Comic Standing.
Bill is right on. Good comedians do not have to swear to be funny, but not all good comedians are squeeky clean. they swear because that is a byproduct of the joke and environment. a cramped nightclub with patrons downing drink after drink, it is appropriate if not expected to have swearing. While one playing theaters full of families would be expected to censor himself. A GOOD comedian can adapt to both.

Ty Barnet has a squeeky clean act. Kudos to Josh for “getting out there & living his life”, but his stand up needs some serious work. He does have talent, but most certainly did not win because of it.

Personally I was a fan of that Chris Porter dude… he seemed to be one of the few that knew what he was doing from the get go. Maybe it was his look as a vintage SNL comedian or anyone of the goofballs you would have seen at the Improv back in 1985. I liked him nonetheless.
I agree that Josh was a sympathetic vote. Yes, he believes in himself and loves to make people laugh, but if your handicapped and love to cook and all you can cook in scrambled eggs should we expect to have to eat them eveyday because you can make them with one arm? His last performance was very medicore. You would think that right before you have the chance to be “the last comic standing” you would have put some effort into your possible last routine.
In the same token, I am not really amused by Ty much either. His routine (although at times funnier than the rest) is so completely typical. His, “What up dogz” , “Yo yo.. so I’m chillin at the club right..” , and for this episode he comes out going, “Ohhh SNAP ya’all” - typical and boring. Sure he is black but ironically he comes off like a wanna be more so than Vanilla Ice.
Shows like this are a good reminder of why I rarely watch TV at all anymore.

i could have done a better job.

Ty was much better. Plain and simple. The real question should be: Why isnt there any more talented comics out there?
This is the best we have????
