Pretty handy, for web designers of course, is running Firefox 1.5 and Firefox 2 side by side. It was actually quite simple, just follow the instructions. It involves using a portable version of Firefox and has instructions for both mac & PC.

On my mac, I just installed them as separate pieces of software and didn’t use a portable version, although now I assume they’re sharing the same profile which may lead to problems in the future.

From muffin research – “The only downside with the windows version is that you can’t run both portable firefox 1.5 and firefox 2.0 at exactly the same time but I guess I can live with that.”

I can live with that too, if I have to. I wonder if anyone tests in AOL these days? Remember that thing? I dropped mac IE 5 quite some time ago, and haven’t started up Netscape in almost a year now. It’s IE 6 & up, FF & safari for the Colab. All these new releases are fun as hell. They remind me of the old days, testing in Netscape 4 & 5, and a couple Internet Explorers. Only this time, thanks to HTML & CSS standards, things are getting a little less tricky cross browser (with the exception of IE 7′s awful handling of line-height).
