Nice link Foxxyz - It's so true that it's the labels with the problems. If they want to find a way to make some cash on this, that's up to them. It's just of no concern to artists or consumers.

OiNK wasn't much different than Google in most respects; it organized data (both legal and illegal) in a structured way, so its users could find data fast and efficiently. It's a futile effort on the law enforcement's and record label's part. And OiNK himself probably will never be sentenced for anything.

Another good article worth a read: http://www.demonbaby.com/blog/2007/10/when-pigs-fly-death-of-oink-birth-of.html

http://torrentfreak.com/the-pirate-bay-to-bring-back-oink-071026/

thepiratebay.org setting up a new OiNK replacement? Unfortunately it won't be nearly as good as the original, as it will be a public tracker and probably won't have the strict rules that OiNK enforced. Still a step in the right direction though.
