After Houston, Adam and I headed to Arlington, just outside of Dallas, where the Texas Rangers call home.
Between Houston and Arlington Texas, we came across the Texas Prison Museum and made an impromptu stop. Leave it to GW’s home state to have a museum with this collection. The museum turned out to be a fantastic exhibition, jam packed with quality prison memorabilia.
Adam and I moved ahead to take in Minute Maid Park, while Susan remained in Austin. We are to head to Dallas and then on to New Orleans, where Susan will fly in to meet back up with us.
We stayed with family friends in Austin. We really only lifted the camera around the house to photograph Susan’s nieces, quite possibly the cutest girls in the state of Texas.
On June 16th I was stirred awake from my comfortable perch in the RV’s overhead sleeper. Gerry was pulling out of the Grand Canyon with a pot of water still simmering on the stove, and every kitchen utensil we owned, let loose in the bowels of the RV. The entire trip, he’s taken great pride in seeing just how fast the RV can get before the boiling water and set of kitchen knives get thrown into the adjacent bed, occupied by his pregnant daughter.
After a lengthy food restocking and laundry day in Fresno, CA; we arrived, after dark, at Lodgepole campground in Sequoia National Park. Our name was not on the camp reservation board, but there was a “Helen Keller”, which we assumed was just someones mental block coming out on paper.
