It’s beautiful in NYC these days, or so I hear. What better way to spend June 21st (a Thursday night) than seeing a great indy film outdoors, & for free no less?

On June 21st, at 8:30pm at Rockefeller center, you can do just that:

My sister’s play, “Dancing at Lughnasa” opens this weekend at Theatre West in LA. It runs from Jan 26 to March 10 and there’s a delicious pre-show dinner spot right next door (10% off w/ your tickets to the show)! I saw Heather in this play a couple of months ago, and while the script does involve rape & heartbreak (it’s most definitely a drama), watching live theatre is really quite an experience, especially with the talent in this one.

I posted the following on The Colab as well.

We launched a new etnies.com, the biggest change is having each sport’s home page better reflect the content found within the site. We put some callouts to the latest podcasts right on the home page, so the kids don’t have to search around for the content nerds hard work. We’ve stopped rotating featured product, differentiated between contests & other features, and the flash now allows you to view each promotional item we have, instead of them randomly being pulled. Even though you can go to the site & view it, We’ve enclosed a screen grab of etnies Skate below:

But who cares about any of that, when we embraced microformats! These things are the way of the future, as browsers will surely integrate what is now handled by extensions such as Mike Kaply’s Operator. The extension reads events (amongst other microformats) and creates one click access for you to add the event to your calendar program of choice. It even supports local applications, such as iCal. Below is the extension in action, picking up the upcoming events we mention on the etnies Skate home page:

Get the extension & view the entire etnies calendar to get a taste of a way futuristic, interconnected browsing experience. Check the rest of the site for some hidden micro gems as well. If any Sci Fi writings are to come true, or you just want to help advance the web as the medium we all hold so dearly to our hearts, the path involves embracing microformats!

Google reader added trends data, a neat way to view what’s been happening with your RSS habit. There’s an area that shows least read as well, a way to remove superfluous feeds. Never remove Cute Overload of course.

“From your 188 subscriptions, over the last 30 days you read 1,005 items, starred 11 items, and shared 26 items.”

Susan & I went camping in Big Sur for Thanksgiving and two days later I went to the Emergency room in Santa Barbara, covered in poison Oak. I thought it was poison Ivy I was really allergic too, turns out Oak spreads like wildfire on my sensitive pasty white skin. Several Aveeno oatmeal baths a day, Benadryl anti-itch spray, and a prescription to a corticosteroid called Prednisone, and the itching & swelling has subsided enough for me to be somewhat comfortable again.

My fingers are no longer too fat to type, so I navigated my way over to this set of three, free & new Ricky Gervais podcasts.

Mark Keller, MTVMy youngest brother, who’s both taller and better looking than me, is in this environmentally conscience commercial currently airing on MTV. He’s wearing his favorite necklace, made of white shells. I’m no director, but why didn’t they put him in a hummer? It’s a 3MB quicktime file titled fallen-hero.mov. I grabbed this video from the director’s site, collarsup.com.

svu Mark has a couple, quick lines in tomorrow nights Law & Order SVU episode titled Clock. He’s the goof in the middle right of this screengrab from the episode preview. Im assuming these are his first lines in a national program and consist of the following:

“like what”

“yeah? we already do that ”

“and electing a little girl like you is gonna get them to do that?”

It starts at 10pm, Tuesday, on NBC.
