Is the hype true?

The seemingly obvious pyramid scheme know as freeipods.com, (yes that’s my referrer link) got a shot in the arm yesterday when Wired devoted an entire article to the fact that it’s legitimate.

Complete with semi-convincing external URL’s you’re now thinking, yeah – I’ll give that a shot, There’s no way Wired.com got it wrong. Is there? But Wouldn’t we have seen MORE people on the internet receiving their free ipods? The small handful of “verifiable cases” opens the floodgates of second doubts. My opinion is that the offer is in fact real, it’s just harder than it sounds to complete the actual requirements. It’s too good not to try, we’ve all got that email no longer worth hiding from spammers anyway, it’s the one you use on friendster and classmates.com.
