Our dutch intern just launched the fruits of his labor at Sole Technology in the form of Spotcovr.com.
From Ivo himself:
Spotcovr is a place where you can explore skate spots around the world and add your own, complete with full descriptions, photos and comments from other skateboarders.
Get in there and add some spots.

The US may suck at football, but I have no problem with wearing my Dublin, World Cup series shoes. I’m not even sure if the red & green ones are Italy or Ireland.
We launched the new etnies Girl site this week. Still a few things to do. There’s a few comments about the new site on CSS Beauty and The Colab.
Apple summed up his cautions before last night’s premier nicely in his My Name is Earl review; along with a humorous Jason Lee encounter. As you’ll see in the comments there, I thought -
All the hype made me cautious as well; It can lead to expecting too much, as well as giving the appearance there’s just too much money behind it to be any good at all. I was pleasently suprised with the results, I thought it started out a bit weak but ended stronger than I was expecting. Joke wise, originality wise, not taking obvious routes-wise.
I do hope that as the show moves forward, the writing will be a bit more creative, something like the body of work behind a, say… Malcolm in the Middle.
How about the suprise role of that cotton-in-his-mouth Telly dude?
That’s right, I just used a comment on a different site as a post on this site!!
This past weekend was the ASR trade show. If you’re unfamiliar with the acronym, it stands for Action Sports Retailer, and you’re as unhip as they come. You should be fully embarrased of your lack of culture, and accept the fact that your current lifestyle will never be cool. First time attendance for me, but thankfully I had some seasoned veterans telling me exactly what to do.
Turns out, with the exception of the game of skate - It’s a TOTAL WASTE OF TIME!!
We were lucky enough to be sitting on the floor, alongside one of the lanes the games were taking place in. The highlight was watching Eric Koston that up close & personal (basically, I was lurking). Koston was totally just having fun, even though $15,000 was on the line, proving he’s deserving of his legend status. We later determined that I would in fact, fellate Koston if in turn, I received his skating abilities. If I’m remembering correctly - haveboard agreed, while Snikkul said he wouldn’t (but I’m not buying it).
I’ve got some ASR photos on Flickr & some small format GAYSR video. My favorite is bomb-drop.avi.
Update:
Awesome Transworld Game of Skate video, watch for Bates vs. Koston.
Photos from the Franklins Paine crew
Great Game of Skate coverage on es.
Also check Skatepark of Tampa’s game of skate coverage.
We’re trying out the latest version of Foxxyz’ Flickr Photo Comments plugin on the éS blog in a post titled “photo mixup: Scuba Steve“. Kids can edit a photo and upload it to their Flickr accounts, tagged with (the combination of) specific words. Each photo will then appear as a comment, automagically.
The latest version of the plugin even checks to see if the photo is no longer availble on Flickr, and if it isn’t, changes the comments’ status from ‘approved’ to ‘moderated’ within wordpress. This way the comments will moderate themselves, to some degree. In the future, it’d be nice to download the photos and host them ourselves.
What a combo. The hotcrew updated with some guidance for skate nerds:
“Are you that skate nerd who is on the interweb 24/7 and doesn’t want to miss a beat? You should really look into using RSS.”
Speaking of skateboarding and the interweb - Please, please - do not take transworld’s suggestion of using myspace for brand management. Bad idea.
